1992 Jeep Comanche odometer: 200000

 

 

 

Up for sale is my 1991 Jeep Comanche. It's an Eliminator Edition, which means it has a 4.0 L engine, captain's chairs, and tach. It's 200,000+ miles, but still running strong. Regular oil changes, plus the following done in the last year:

New front brakes / rotors
New windshield (old one had a crack)
New alternator + new Kevlar belt
New battery
New headlights (still need to adjust those, just got them in last week)
New stereo (plays MP3s off an SD card too)
New speakers (all four replaced)
New tires

It's a five speed manual transmission. Heater works great. Truck is reliable, it got me from Topeka KS to Medford MA without issue when I moved up here in February (I still have KS plates to prove it!). I'm selling it because my job in Cambridge doesn't have parking, so I pretty much take the T everywhere now. Plus if I still have it in November I'll have to get MA plates, license, and inspection, and frankly I don't use the truck enough to pay for all that!

I do have pictures of this truck, I'll edit my ad and post them when I get home from work tonight. It's in really great shape for its age, anyone looking for a Comanche or the like would be pretty pleased to find this one (but you can be the judge of that).

There are a few spots of rust on the sides of the truck, nothing huge. The red paint job looks nice, but it was originally black and you can tell it's a repaint when you're standing fairly close. Since my KS tags don't expire until November, I have not yet had an MA inspection done. The only thing that would have prevented this from passing would have been the crack in the windshield, so that's been replaced. Lastly, I have a loan from the Topeka Police Credit Union on this vehicle, so they have my title until the loan is paid. I can have them mail the title directly to the buyer.

NINJA EDIT: Putting pictures up now! These are from last year, since I don't have any daylight left at this point to take new ones. Jeep is in the same condition, but higher miles (Topeka to Boston does that) and the cigerette lighter has been swapped out for a newer one that doesn't quite fit in the dash (I have the orig one if you want to put it back, the contacts just need a good scrubbing). Oh and that factory stereo is long gone, there is a MUCH nicer unit in place now.

If you don't mind the mileage....209K miles and only 2wd...but being only 2wd it probably hasn't seen much snow or salt..

I am the Jeep's owner, if anyone has any questions for me I'd be glad to answer.  And of course, test drives are welcome as well.  I'd love to see the MJ go to someone on the forum who knows and loves Jeeps, so I'd be just a tad more flexible on price here than with a stranger on Craigslist.
