JRB COMANCHE
Hey guys brand new to the Comanche Club. I have been watching your posts for a couple weeks to guide me through some work on my new truck. I have a parking brake cable that needs repair. The cable itself is new, but I am missing the bracket that connects the union to the main cable. I have a photo attached. Is it that simple? Do I just need the bracket or is there some other stuff missing? I am awaiting a manual, but don't know anyone in LA that has the same truck I can lay under and compare notes. Geonovast
Welcome to the club! Your pic isn't showing up. You need to host the picture on an online web hosting site, and link the full URL from there. You can't link from your computer, and you can't upload as an attachment. This thread should help: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11077 Are you referring to the bracket that connects all three cables together? ParadiseMJ
I have an extra bracket just laying here(the part that bolts to the underside of the bed). I also have the little "union" piece. You can have this one just for small shipping (whatever they charge me) I think flat rate priority mail is about 10-11 bucks. I swapped mine out because I got one with the mounting holes for the steel skid plate. Looks a little different but works out the same. The mounting holes on the new one (skid mount) and the holes on the old one match right up. They're slightly different but the new one bolted right up (new one off a long bed, old one off a short bed) The spare one: The new one: Shoot me a PM if you want it
64 Cheyenne
Paradise, is that the bracket bucket seats would use to have the handbrake work between the seats? or does anyone have a pic of how they hooked up their handbrake in a truck that originally came with the footbrake? If JRB COMANCHE doesn't want those brake parts, I might be interested, if they might help me get my handbrake hooked up.

No, my MJ came with a foobrake with a broken cable (in the cab) and I got the whole set from a donor MJ with a footbrake. Also, I'm sure the front cable would be shorter. The bracket in my XJ is the same though.
64 Cheyenne
Haven't got the hand brake hooked up in either of my trucks yet. I'm still looking (not very hard) on how to make the handbrake work in my MJs that both came with bench seats. On one truck, the lever is mounted just haven't hooked it up yet. This will get done when I finish the 8.8s on both trucks. Someday

64 Cheyenne
I seen that, I wasn't sure about using a lever from a WJ with our older style consoles. don't know if it will work.
