Frankly I don't think it will work, but what the heck. Try it and see. I have always swore by JB but the other day it let me down. The check valve on my compressor broke and I couldn't find a replacement so I JB'd it. Didn't work. Came apart when I tried screwing it back together. Like I said, try it and see. Just might work and only cost ya a couple minutes of your time. Let us know how it turned out.

well it setup ok and feels pretty solid. ill fill it up tomorrow and cross my fingers, close my eyes and twist the key. :shake: hope it works though just replaced the water pump, radiator, coolant bottle, and heater lines. good thing there are people out there dumb enough to stand one of these fine trucks up on its front bumper and then sell it to me for a bill and a half. :clapping: lots o parts! :D anyway ill report back the results tomorrow.

started it up and brought it to operating temp. its still stuck on there and it aint leakin so it just might last. I'll road test it once it cools off enough to top up the coolant, but i expect not to have anymore problems. :ack: it should be noted however that the fitting did not actually break, just became separated from the reservoir. I'm not sure if it was glued at the factory or heat bonded, but it was almost a snap fit after it came off. i think the results would be much less favorable if the fitting had actually broken

  • 3 weeks later...

took this truck camping this weekend, fifty miles on rough gravel roads and not a drop leaked. I think i can call this a successful repair. now if i could get the lights to all work at once i'll be doing allright. :wall:
