krochus
I finally scored a instrument cluster for my 92xj and now need to swap out the temp and oil pressure senders. Anyone know if these stayed the same after the renix changeover? Could I plunder the ones off my 88 parts MJ?
Geonovast
The oil pressure sender will be the same.. but the coolant one will not. 91 used the same sender as Renix, but they changed the plug in 92.
jpnjim
Fuel gauge should be backwards when switching from Renix to HO gauges.
Geonovast
He's putting a 92 cluster into a 92. He's asking about stealing the sending units off an 88 for the 92. You can't just put an HO cluster into a Renix... the entire system's different. The Fuel gauge polarity problem stems from needing a new fuel pump sender... when 91-92 MJ fuel senders are rather rare.

Right^^^^ HO cluster into an HO jeep so only the oil presure sender will work.....That's fine, as that's the one that costs $30 the temp sender is like $
Geonovast
I would take a look first. How does your 92's coolant sender hook up? Is it a round plug that goes onto a threaded part of the sender, or is it an actual plug that could use two pins?
jpnjim
Ah, adding gauges to a 92 that didn't come with them. Thanks for the clarification.
