Rebelfish99
I just recently purchased my second MJ and it needs a rear axle, it currently has a Dana 35 thats all sorts of messed up. I have an 87 Jeep Cherokee and a 99 Grand cherokee both for parts, but neither axle will work, the grand cherokee is coils and the cherokee is sprung over and I need a sprung under Dana 35 or whatever will bolt in. I have cash or I can trade parts off both my jeeps. Please call me if you have anything that will work or if you know what axle I can just bolt in that would work. I can pay to ship as long as its less than 100 miles or I can pick up. Thanks everyone. My cell number is 757-717-8813
mjeff87
there is (was, maybe...haven't been down in a week or so) an MJ in the local 'yard up here. Last I saw it the rear 35 was still there... that said, you can get a set of new spring perches (JEGS, Mopar, etc.) for about $20 shipped to you, and get them welded on the XJ axle for short change. Pete M
getting the right gear ratio is far more important than perch location. getting perches welded on is pretty easy.
Rebelfish99
I can do gears myself, I just next the whole axle so I can get it inspected. The axle in my comanche is so messed up its not worth fixing. Is there any axles that would just bolt in so I could at least drive it? -Thanks Brenton
Pete M
Only an MJ axle will bolt-on. but it's real easy to get perches burned onto that XJ axle. check with your local muffler shop.
