comanche87
hey. how hard is it to install wiring for a 242 t case? I'm thinking of getting the wiring for it and hook it up so i can have the full time light only come on.
carnuck
If you can find the wire that turns the light on, there is a switch on the trans that grounds when in different gears.
deziped
I just recently changed from a 231 to 242. 242's (87 - 90) as far as I know only use elec grounding sw at TC for light at dash. No the Vaccumn sw on trf case won't work as the shank on it is not long enuf to reach the shift shaft dimples which operate sw. Use the long shank elec sw with 2 wires on it. Mine plugged into existing wiring installed at factory but tucked away at side of AW4. I just cut the tie strap unwound the wire & plugged it in. This lit up the light for part-time when in Hi or Low. Did nothing for full-time, but I may not have a bulb in that hole. Gonna check it out one of these days.
