ParadiseMJ
Sorry guys, I know this is kind of long but I'm obsessing and want to start this project. I've had XJ's for years but I just got this 88 MJ and I'm trying to prioritize the work it needs. Time is not an issue, money is available (bi-monthly). Right now the bed is not bolted down so I'm going to pull it off to get at the rear end and make it all easier. Lift: I have some F-150 coils and some extended rear shackles. I expect to get about 1 1/2 to 2". I may go SOA later. It came with perches and a new SYE in the box. Steering: The box and U-joint is new, all the TRE's are shot, but I haven't had it out on the road yet so I don't really know how it handles. Drive line : BA10, nuff said. Swap in what? AX15 or convert to AW4? NP231, D44 w/3.55's 31" BFG A/T's Motor starts but ALL the vac lines are either missing or shot. Oil & coolant are clean but I'm still going to do all the fluids. The gas tank is out of the truck now. This truck has been a farm truck and has been sitting for about 6 months when the guy was having overheating issues, I can deal with that. Surprisingly it has almost no rust. Surface rust, but no nasty stuff and I was able to turn the rear shackle bolt with a little uumph.
maddzz1
The f-150 coils I think will be very stiff on our smaller trucks. you can get all the vacuum lines that come off the valve coverat napa. Like $20 each for the 2 halves at the front and $12 for the one off the back
ParadiseMJ
I also have some ZJ V8 coils. Think those'd work better. I have a pair of them on my XJ too and they're fine. I want to stay away from coil spacers and if I go SOA in the future I'll bite the bullet for 5" coils.
