Cherokee Seats

Recommended Posts

I'm sorry if this was a question previously answered, but I'm working on an 87 Comanche right now, the bench seat has a few good sized rips in it. Trying to find another comanche is hard enough, let alone one with good seats. Will the seats out of a Cherokee bolt into a Comanche?

If so, what years should i be looking for? Bucket or bench does not matter to me.

Yes you can put Cherokee seats into your MJ. Not a direct bolt in but not too hard either. They later years, starting in 94 I think take a lot more work to get them in. You want to try and find the 2dr type as they fold forward but the 4dr's will work as well. Here's a couple of links that will help.

welcome to the site! good to see another (somewhat) local member, the granite state isnt too far away... and yes 94 and up seats take a lot more work to install than 86-93 ones.... on the older ones its just a matter of removing the cherokee mount brackets and installing the comanche ones on the seat tracks... took me about an hour and a half to do the swap in mine...

Or you could just get the bench seat you already have reupholstered...lots more options that way...

You can also use the upper stock bolt on the hump side, If your using the newer seats and just drill the three other holes.

Weld plates to the bottom and drill through them. Also , the newer brackets are taller, you still have to modify the

brackets or the floor . Either way it takes time to get right . I can still take mine in and out easy enough.

accually the seats are a direct bolt up buttttt it is olny the seat not the seat bracket. you need to take the seat off the bracket and use your stock seat bracket off your seats and it will bolt right back in. with the 1990 cherokee larado seats you sit about 1-2 inchs higher.
