comanche09
IIRC There may have been composition and/or thickness changes due to the installation of the driver airbag on 95+ models... XJ / MJ use the same windshield year for year. Perhaps Eagle can expound on this. I need to replace my windshield due to being unable to get to all the surface rust around the frame because of the trim "nubs" and most of my retaining clips are broken stuck in the polyurethane adhesive. :fs1: When I do replace it, I'm going to spec a 95+ windshield with the one piece rubber trim. Don't mean to be rude but ... is there something about "any" that isn't clear? AFAIK all XJ windshields are the same. The rubber surround used on the newer ones can be retrofitted to the older XJs anytime you replace a windshield, so any differences in thickness (which is something I have not even heard a whisper about prior to this thread) must be exceedingly small, and inconsequential. Shandley
Ok, now that I am righteously confused, can I put an XJ windshield, any years or either between 1986 and 2001, or any MJ 1986-1992 into my MJ?

Pete M
Are you contemplating pulling a 'shield yourself? I wish you good luck. It can be a real challenge to get them out without cracking it. It's one of the few things I gladly pay a pro to handle. make absolutely sure that you seal it properly. windshield leaks will tend to drip down under the carpets and lead to the way-too-common floor rot. :(
Shandley
Nope! It's not something for me to do.
