banjobill80
Hey fellas I have an 86 mj with the 2.8 some may remember I was kickin around options on replaceing the 2.8 with something else. Well I found a gm 2.8 crate motor with 20K miles on it for 200 bucks so I decided to go that route. Now my next question is on induction. have any here used one of the weber carb conversions seen on ebay and else where. I also have pondered putting an eldebroke intake with a holey 390 4bbl carb any here done that? I will be stripeing the vacume lines and all that garbage off the motor as by the time I have it running it will be echeck exsempt :headpop: so I thought of rebuilding the original carb but it looks a bit crapy and problematic. Any thoughts Thanks Fellas

wallisek
I'm partial to Weber carbs but they can be a PITA to tune properly. A lot of times to properly tune them you have to swap out jets. If you want a weber, I'd highly recommend these guys. www.carburetion.com I've bought from them before and they have the cheapest prices for webers, parts, and conversion kits anywhere that I've seen. A Holley would be a good choice too, they are easy to work on and you can get a lots of parts, jets, valves, etc. at auto part stores.
Eagle
I'd go for the Holley.
