STERLING STINGER
brand new entire exhaust system it was rotted out so i replaced it like a year ago
Geonovast
My XJ did that when I got it. Ended up being a dirty throttle body/TPS out of adjustment. No matter how much I floored it, it would be in OD by 40 mph and wouldn't downshift by itself. You might want to specify at least year/engine/tranny with tech questions, or put them in your signature.

Eagle
i don't think thats my truck on that linkif it is, there is no part like that on my truck Yes it is, and there is. In your photo, that cable running from the throttle body toward the passenger side, at exactly top center (12:00 o'clock) in your photo, is the kickdown cable. Wildman
And.......That White "button" on top of the cable, is what you push to make the adjustment, just follow the instructions in the link provided :D

Wildman
Some times, 'we' post responses, links, with the assumption that your asking for a solution, with a understanding where to look. Your picture helped narrowed the search down for you :D You mentioned that "all the cables are loose down there" and plan on replacing them. The TV cable is a real tough replacement, you need to pull the tranny pan to replace that, if you can find one. The shifter cable, has to be some what loose, as it "flexes" as you shift. It kind of falls under the "if it's not broke" syndrome.
