Comanche Mud Racing

Recommended Posts

The St. Croix Co Fair was held this weekend in my home town of Glenwood City, WI. Saturday night they had a Central Mudracing Association sanctioned 4x4 mud race. I've wanted to participate in this event since I was a kid and this year my Comanche was in one piece and I've got some halfway decent mud tires on it so I decided to try it.

I raced in the showroom stock class, in which the only mods allowed are 33" tires and a lift.

To my surprise, I ran the length of the pit! I learned that my truck is definitely more of a crawler than a racer with the longest time of anyone to make it through the pit all night. 180 feet in just over 30 seconds! However, I did beat several trucks that didn't make it through.

A shot of some of the participants:

I got bogged down about halfway through but was able to keep it moving and found a better line further to the right. I really want that M715.

I finally got stuck for good after I had just barely crossed the finish line.

Here's the winner of the class. She was right after me so I missed the run but I guess she just blew straight through.

The anouncer was a big Jeep fan and kept saying what a cool little truck I had. It was a lot of fun even if I didn't win.
