GreasemonkeySC Posted October 15, 2018 Share Posted October 15, 2018 I finally got my new AC condenser installed a few days ago, and the replacement line between the dryer & condenser is the wrong one.I finally got pissed, and had a line made for $30. Vacuumed the system, charged it up, and I got cold air!Well.....I got cold air from the defrost vents, so I gotta tackle that tomorrow. I'm almost positive it's the control panel now. I had done some vacuume system repairs previously, and verified that I had vacuume at the controll panel after repairs. So close, and just in time for the cold weather to start moving in! Over the last week, I blew more than $500 in two transactions on A/C parts. I've got a brand new Sanden compressor on my desk right now and the rest of the parts are either here or getting here in the next few days. They did away with them later on and replaced them with standard schrader valves thankfully. I've still got my old compressor sitting around. I could yank those fittings off of it and send them to you if you'd be interested. I don't remember them ever leaking - one of the few components of the original system that didn't. They will get a reflective silver coating inside, and the lenses polished.If I can't polish them, I'll start fabricating a set of translucent red acrylic lenses.Helps to work at a place where we CNC route, cut, and form plastics.
