  1. This isn't really a build thread so much as a journal. I posted up as many of the old pictures I've got from over the years. Its been a great little truck and has many memories attached to it. TDi swap, frame stiffening stuff begins on page 5, three-link stuff begins on page 6. Keep in mind that I am updating this thread as I progress. Got her in October of '07 from another CC member: KYMJ A nice, rust-free, 4x4 MJ with all the right stuff for a good price. Had to jump on it!
  2. Welcome to my build. 1987 Jeep Comanche. 2WD in pretty good condition. Picked it up late 2 years ago and daily drove it for a while. Stopped driving it daily since I actually didn’t drive anywhere (military and can literally walk everywhere) so took it home and put it in the shop. These pictures show the condition it was in. Also picked up a New Beetle with an ALH TDI to swap in some day. IMG_5905.MOV
  3. So my build has taken a turn with my purchase of 3/4 ton axles out of a 02 single wheel super duty. the font doesnt seem like it doesnt have enough room between the pumpkin and the knuckle to put the coil spring. I was thinking of using a coilover and four link in the front. The rear is simple as i am staying leaf. The ultimate goal is to turn this truck into a expedtion vehicle. So many back road and highway miles. I have read alot about people using coil overs and four linking them on xjs. but i want to know how road worthy it will be. Any advice is help full Edit: i am only trying to lift 4.5 maybe 5 I'm gonna stay between 33 and 35 tires.
