Updates?

Garage is not insulated so the past two weeks it has been 110F out there. Also went to visit PA to finally see my grandmother's grave.(Couldn't make the funeral, but I spent a bunch of time with her beforehand since we knew it was coming.) :P I have been cleaning lots of parts in the living room. Not exactly update worthy material.

The HVAC unit, if I can get the defrost flap repaired properly I am going to have to source another.

You going long arm or short? What size tire you going to run?

Short arm setup with RE's drop brackets.

Tire size is unknown at this time, but I have a general idea. Probably going to do a 33" tire to avoid trimming too much.

How is yours broken? The arm was broken on the shaft of mine. It was a pretty simple fix.

The half star shaft on the flap snapped off inside the plastic arm. I have a bigger screw it now and it works smoother pressing it manually, but I have not taken it outside to the other Jeep to test it yet.

Coming right along. Looks good!

Thanks! Just did some more. :D I finalized the repair to the defrost flap on the HVAC box. Some additional glue and a slightly larger screw securely fastened the arm to the flap.

I have a bunch of photographs waiting to be released in a huge batch. I made lots of progress with the interior that was on hold while I was away on a work trip.

However, I did pick up these set of five JK 17" Moab rims and Goodyear Wrangler tires with roughly 65% tread left. The rims are in perfect condition. One has a minor blemish from a wheel weight that can easily be removed with a clay bar.

You know those rims are the wrong bolt pattern, right?

Yep, 5x5" bolt pattern and 6.25" backspacing on the JK Moab rims. I am ordering 5x4.5" to 5x5" adapters that are 1.25" thick. That will change the 6.25" backspacing right to the 5" I want which is the same as the TJ Moab rims.

New carpet is on the way. Center console, passenger door panel, passenger air bag cover, and a Select-Trac shifter bezel all in black are on their way. Soon the interior will be done and I can move up on to assembling the engine bay.

Lots of parts arriving, time to save up for paint! I am doing other items that need be worked on to help me find anything that might need to be done before paint. I did find another hole I need to drill in the firewall. The 1997 Cherokee never had power options so many of the wires to hook up the connectors are not on the wiring harness. As well, I would have needed to reduce the size of the harness anyway so this all works out. After lots of research, studying, and printing out connector diagrams I figured out how to rewire it cleanly. There are still three larger wires that need their own power harness wired up.
