1991 Jeep Comanche Eliminator 4x4 for sale

Recommended Posts

I am getting to old for this!! We just found out that our fourth surprise( I

mean child) is on the way. With the insurance coverage I have which has a high

deductible and high co pays I am forced to generate money somewhere. That is

why the Jeep is the first place my wife thought of was to sell the Jeep to

generate the money. I am going to be looking for top dollar for it because I

have just done a lot of work on it. I thought I would list it here first to see

if anybody might be interested in it before I put it on ebay.

Description:

1991 Jeep Comanche Eliminator 4x4. It is a true eliminator that I had converted

to a four wheel drive. When I purchased it it was a two wheel drive with some

front end damage. I was told that the truck had hit a deer and the damage

seemed consistent with that. However, I later pulled a carfax and it said that

it had a slight accident with another vehicle. Either way it has been

completely redone. I have the carfax report if you want to see it. It is dated

in July of this year but nothing has changed.

I then purchased a parts car that was a 1991 Cherokee 4x4 limited. I used the

front end and suspension from that and purchased a rebuilt transmission from a

regular Cherokee and had them all professionally installed. You would not know

that it was not a factory 4x4 had I not told you. The jeep did not need new

doors but I swapped them to the Cherokee so that I could have power windows and

locks. I purchased control panels for a two door Cherokee and had them all

professionally wired in.

I also had the visors redone and a home link transmitter installed in the

drivers side.

Some of the gauges were not working so I purchase a new odometer for it that

shows 98,+++ miles. The actual mileage is around 200,000 and I have to old

odometer that I can give you as well.

According to carfax this has always been a Georgia truck and the lack of rust is

awesome. In my opinion it is one of the nicest examples of a Comanche that you

can find. I had it repainted in the original white and had it restripped to

look like factory stripes. It has five star jeep wheels off a jeep wrangler

with good tires. I also have the original wheels that have tires on them that

go with the truck but they need to be redone and the tires are shot.

I had new shocks, rear main seal, exhaust, catalytic converter, o2 sensors, tail

pipe(the original was broke at the elbow), complete rear brakes, wipers, etc.

redone when it was restored.

The items that still need attention is the windshield wiper motor does not stop

at the correct place (really no big deal), the oem fog lights are still on the

truck along with the covers but they are not operational, The interior lights do

not work in the rear, however, the visor lights on the mirrors both work, and

the original rear bumper is still on the back and is not in great shape. These

are the only items that I am aware of that are not 100%. Everything else works

awesome. Even the ac blows ice cold.

The paint job is ok but it is by no means a top of the line paint. It is

probably more consistent with the original paint quality. The trim around the

windows are not all black anymore(all it needs is to be taped off and painted.

The seats are a little discolored as is the carpet. They are not to bad and I

had planned on getting them professionally cleaned and I believe they would look

great. The truck has a bed liner. The only scratches I am aware of are one on

the tailgate about one inch and two 1/4 inch nicks on the passenger side.

According to my mechanic the engine appears to have been rebuilt at some point

but I have no proof of that. He also stated that the radiator had been replaced

at some point.

I would drive this truck anywhere without any concerns. I will feel comfortable

that if anybody wants to fly to Atlanta and drive it home to any distance that

there would be no concerns. With that said I will sell this truck AS IS with no

warranty written or implied.

I can get you any information you wish for the Jeep just let me know what you

want. I can also get you any pictures you would like. Please make offers but

remember I do not plan on giving it away.

Here is the VIN information:

1991 JEEP COMANCHE ELIMINATOR (1J7FT66S6ML582006)

Thanks

Mike

I want $ 5,000 for the comanche. I would consider a partial trade for a no rust rough Comanche so that I can keep in the Comanche world!! I am still trying to figure out how to put four kids in the cab since my wife will not let me put them in the bed:). You can call me at 404 403 2974 with any questions. I really hope somebody from the club will buy it and keep it nice. I had one guy call me and said he might convert it to a rock crawler and although I would sell it to him if he got serious it would make me sad. To the man that pulled the autocheck I want to say thank you. That is almost exactly what the carfax shows. Would you mind emailing me a copy of that to mikecombee@mindspring.com so that I can have that with the truck please? Good luck and thanks.

Mike

P.S. Is there a way to get notified when somebody post a question or response? I just checked it today and got all of the responses but I did not know they were there so I apologize for my late response.

I do not know how to take this listing off or I would just remove it. We lost our baby so I no longer have a need to sell the Jeep. Please keep us in your prayers as this has been very emotional for my wife(Cheri).

Thanks

Mike
