sputter under hard acceleration, especially warm.

So I'm FINALLY back in the MJ game with an 88 4.0 5 speed. Whoo! So I revived it from 8 years of sitting just like my first one (6 years ago), and have replaced: fuel pump, filter & tank, spark plugs, wires, rotor & cap, cleaned each individual injector. Fuel pressure looked good and fluctuated normally while revving at idle, but the hood pinches the gauge hose so I can't drive with it :/ I've seen posts on similar issues but maybe I can get this one early! My exhaust manifold gasket is leaking, and I've unplugged lots of things to see if the issue goes away but it's always there. I'm suspicious of a fuel issue but have no idea what. I was gonna try a cheap junkyard icm and coil to possibly eliminate the possibility of it being ignition, but if yall have ideas then please let me know. I might clean those grounds near the dipstick too, those sound real important. Idk about them causing an issue like mine to where it only runs poorly at low rpm under heavy throttle then running fine in high rpm (it does idle a bit high) and I've sprayed starting fluid all over the intake with it running and nothing changes. I've cleaned the throttle body.....pretty good too. Anyone?

Check/clean/re-do the ground lug behind the left tail lamp. Also try bypassing the ballast resistor if still in the circuit.

What do I bypass the ballast resistor with, a simple wire?

Yes, jumper wire across the resistor terminals.

I put a 16 gauge copper wire between them and it didn't wanna idle...

Check the tps voltages http://cruiser54.com/   #8

Also check the hose from your'e map sensor, I was having an issue and checked all this and even replaced my injectors with the better volvo ones and it ended up being the map hose had cracked at the elbow where it goes into the throttle body and was causing some serious running issues.
