Finally Got My Scanner Hooked Up!

I finally got around to running my new (to me) scanner on my MJ.

It's really cool how it shows all values and data.

So, I made a video of my specs with the truck running and at operating temperature.

I've been having an erratic idle issue for a while and just before I took this video I finishing installing my new wiring from Kelleyswip.com, the TPS was adjusted prior to this.

 

The only possible issue I found today was my O2 sensor wiring slightly melted on the intake due to it not being it's holder, but the scanner still shows voltage from it..

 

Basically, if anyone can decipher anything from this, I'd be eternally grateful.

According to the scanner the O2 is staying at 4.77 volts.

It should be switching fairly rapidly from about 1.1 to 4.9 if the O2 sensor is any good. 

 

 

The DC meter movement can't switch that fast, so it's averaging the pulsing AC sine wave output. The only way you can see the switching is with an A/F meter or synced to an oscilloscope or spectrum analyzer. OP, can you see the voltage change when transitioning from open to closed loop?

You should see the meter at 0V when first started then the voltage go up slowly as the O2 sensor starts passing traffic if the meter is monitoring the sensor output. I have no idea how it's wired in..........

OP should see O2 sensor voltage fluctuate rather rapidly from .1 to 4.9 volts rapidly as previously stated. If the voltage remains "stagnant" the O2 sensor is bad. simple.

I figured it out!

Now the O2 volts go up and down, along with the fuel mix going rapidly Rich/Lean like it should.
