Getting water in my cab, need help please

Recommended Posts

We had a storm last night here in So Cal and woke up with a small puddle of water on my passenger side floor and the driver side was damp, I just had the windshield replaced about 2 weeks ago by a reputable shop and it used to leak A LOT worse before I replaced it. I checked the grommet for my antenna and its fine also, can anyone help my out with this? I'm planning on removing the grill on the cowl and replacing the wiper bushings on it this weekend is there anything I should double check while I'm there? any help is really appreciated thank you guys.

Mines the same way. Some from my moonroof but mostly from my new windshield. At the top, about 6-8" towards the center on both sides the glass dips down about 3/16" about 6"long and it leaks there bad on the pass. Side and a little on the drivers.... We found the dip in the glass after we cut the horribly installed rubber trim piece off so we could paint the cab.

I have had several windsheilds put in over the years and most all had to be redone and these were done by glass companys. Make sure they use new seals.

I thought all they used to seal them was that glue? at least for our MJ's I've read the newer XJ's have a seal but you have to eliminate the trim :dunno:

I'm wondering if I can put tape around the windshield and like yxmj said have someone hose the outside to eliminate the windshield as the cause, I really don't want to take it back and have them redo it,but I guess if I have to I will.

I watered the truck with my water hose last night when I got home from work for quite some time and didn't see a single drop inside the cab :hmm: and no sign of a leakage ANYWHERE !!! and on top of that I pulled my carpet back and found I already had a hole about 3/8" in diameter on the floor pan  :fs1:.

SOLVED!!!! I popped my hood and poured water on some suspicious places and it turns out my leak is coming from where the A/C expansion valve and vacuum lines go through the fire wall, that foam seal/gasket dried up and it was letting water leak through. I already ordered my cowl hood seal from Amazon ( Mopar part number 55235178AB if anyone's interested) but now I have to look for a solution for that foam seal on the fire wall.
