Whenever I throw it in 4H and turn either left or right there's a violent knocking. I have no idea what it is and would appreciate any input. No it just sounds like a violent knock. Are you putting it in 4WD on pavement? If so -- DON'T! Duly noted. Why not though? I'm just essentially putting power to all four wheels. 88ComancheMitch Posted September 22, 2014 Share Posted September 22, 2014 IF you're off road you allow some minor slippage when the tires are moving at different speeds, like when turning. On pavement it's very hard to turn wheels at different speeds because the tires are gripping, usually causing a "hop" and such when turning. Hope that helps. It puts the case in a bind when you turn. You can do this with an all wheel drive or "full time" case as they are designed for internal slippage to compensate. I do not know the size of my tires, I believe they are about 30 inches. 235/75/15 If memory serves me. I'm pretty sure they're aftermarket wheels, but not 100% positive.
