I figured I'd post this in the pub for more attention but can be moved if necessary. I was wondering how many, if any, members would be interested in the "CC pow wow" next year.

Thoughts? Ideas?

*update*

It's been decided that this years 2015 CC pow wow run will be at Badlands offroad park in Attica, Indiana. The date is The first weekend in August which is the 31st through the 2nd. Some will arrive on thrusday and some Friday. The main shin dig will be Saturday for a group runs and other fun things.

Hope to see you there!

I love the idea of getting as many CC members in one spot and then actually see it happen! The topic comes up over and over again... just once I'd like to see it happen. Anything somewhat centrally located to get a draw from the whole country? Anything cool in Nebraska or Kansas? :dunno:

I was more thinking of a wheeling meet up lol...

That'd be the logical thing to do, but I think there might be more of a draw if there were some other activities as well. Perhaps for those either not all that into wheeling or too afraid to do so with their truck...  :peek:

I'd be more than happy to host a CC Pow Wow at my place... just throwing that out there. Plenty of room for camping right in the yard, Appleton, MN is an hour and a half drive south for some wheeling and could make a big caravan down there, I've got a state park just a mile around the corner for those looking for a little more secluded camping, there are hiking/horse trails there too, neat little downtown area for those who need to find something for a significant other to fill their time if not interested in getting drowned in CC nerds, there's a winery that does tours and samples, there's a distillery that does tours and samples, really good fishing year round, strip club all of a half mile down the road... lots of good stuff in my little town! I'm a little out of the way for most, however. Central to the country if you include Alaska!

i feel like a 'central' location will still scare off alot of people. disney OK is still 1200 miles from me (utah) and further from the west coast crew.

maybe a western pow-wow and an eastern pow-wow?

Perhaps. I think this is where most efforts to put something together always falls off the rails when people start looking at how far they'd need to go. I'd be the first to say something about west and east Pow Wow though... were do us central guys fit in? Especially the ones that are way up here? Sure there could be regional Pow-Wows, but that's still difficult for those on the outskirts of a few regions. Can't please everyone. If it'd mean small groups then so be it, I guess.

Maybe try a new method and just have someone toss a dart at a map? It'd keep it random them anyhow! Probably end up somewhere in Sweden or something... not a bad thing for huricane4 though. Hell of a drive for the rest of us.  :laughin:

Yup. I believe this was discussed before and I'm all for it. Realistically it could actually happen that way. A location that's not insanely far to drive. Splitting it up would be the best bet for getting people to show

I am willing to drive 16-18 hours from Central KS to meet at a nice destination. I think there are 3 locations that would be great.

1. Ouray - Let's face it. Beautiful, Spectacular, a stock truck can do 99% of the trails and a built rig is just as fun to wheel out there. Truck damage would not be likely.

2. Moab - It's a wheeling Mecca. Unique desert landscape. Lots of trail variety but several of the 'big' trails can't be done with a stock truck.

3. Badlands - It's a place I've always wanted to visit. Seems like smaller trucks would still have fun.

Yeah, the biggest problem is that everyone is so far apart. We're a diverse group, but it makes really hard to organize in person. There's a lot of us in the TN area, but we haven't been able to find a time that works for everyone :(

I wouldn't mind a longish drive if it was certain that it was going to happen and that there would be a good turnout.

You guys up north always have the most fun. It's a shame there's not a lot of activity going on down here in the southeast. :(

My local club is having a show and obstacle course just up the road from you.  Everyone is invited...

That's what we are doing this for.. If anyone is SERIOUS about coming, lets start a list, figure out everyone's location and go from there. We can always set the time during the beginning of next year. That way people will still have time to put in for vacation or save a little if need be. Honestly I was thinking spring/early summer..

I'm in TN as well but don't mind a drive. I don't want to trek half way across the country either though.

Badlands wouldn't be bad drive for me. That's kind of where I was thinking around KY, IN, OH area. The more people chime in on going, the more we can adjust for location..

It's about 6.5 hours for me, but I've done the drive at leas a dozen times, would be up for it again depending on when.
