Engine is pretty much done for now, Just need an egr, cap & rotor, and an egr tube.

Started to prep the engine bay for paint, Would have been easier if i knew how to disconnect all the harness that go into the firewall

Think i might need some new motor mounts, what do you think lol

And some more engine bay pics

Weather permitting next weekend i will start to paint the engine bay, and monstaline the frame and under carriage

  • 1 month later...

any luck on getting the egr tube on? and are those dynomax header?

The pacesetter headers are on and fit good, haven't had any luck with an egr tube, I tried to bend the original one and cracked it, think I might bend one out of copper

Motors still on the stand so cannot say ow the headers sound yet

with it that far apart, did you check the timing chain for slack? id have just replaced it. :)

Nice work though man. Coming out very clean.

This is the farthest I've ever gone into a motor, how hard is it to change the timing chain? And good write up or a good brand I should go with?

Thanks

Tackled the passenger side ball joints these last 2 nights, Have to say what a pittta they were, After my c clamp would not tighten anymore i ended up heating, crc freeze off and nothing did the trick, Who would have knew a few hits on the side with a hammer would have did the trick :dunno:  The drivers side should go more smoothly as i picked up a few tricks lol

Removed both ball joints

I even resulted to the grinder to help before the hammer trick

Spicer Ball joints part # 706944  Won them in a auction on ebay for cheap $30.50 shipped

( lower joint is in the process of being installed, not in picture )

Also cleaned the inside of my axle tube, Alot of dirt and rust in there

Should have it all buttoned up and finished by the weekend

Looks great man.  What paint did you use for the bay and fender wells? DId you do much prep?

Thanks, I used high temp engine paint on the bay and did 2 coats. As far as prep work I used grease lightening and whipped everything down the best I could, I also used the same paint on the fender braces. For the inner fender I will be using monsta liner, but I have that on the back burner till the weather breaks and I get a little more accomplished
